The Return of A Life Once Lost? (Sort Of)

Ecstatic Vision

A Life Once Lost officially called it a day in July after a decade and a half of grinding it out on the road. We were sad to see them hang up their cleats, although we can’t say we were surprised to find out about it given the constant state of flux the band has been in for quite some time.

But now it appears as if some members of the band have resurfaced in a new outfit called Ecstatic Vision. Even less-than-astute observers probably remember that ALOL’s last album was called Ecstatic Trance. Hey, continuity!

This is no ALOL re-hash or play for fame on past glory. Ecstatic Vision’s music — which you can stream below via Bandcamp — is trippy, jammy and psychedelic, not heavy in the slightest. It’s got nothing to do with A Life Once Lost except that at least one member from that band is in this one. I’d recognize those lead guitar patterns anywhere, and that’s definitely Doug Sabolick on guitar. But beyond that no information is available on the band’s membership, although I’d venture to say we’ll all find out soon enough. I can also say with reasonable confidence that that is not Bob Meadows on vocals. Check it out:

More info as we get it.
