0

There’s an old saying which some people think is a Chinese curse and some people think is a Chinese proverb and is actually not Chinese at all, and that saying goes like this: “May you live in interesting times.” And these are certainly interesting times for Slipknot fans: bassist Paul Gray has died, guitarist Jim Root sat out the most recent Stone Sour tour to do some writing, and drummer Joey Jordison has been fired from the band. Consequently, Maggots across the globe are on the edge of their seats, waiting for reassurance that The ‘Knot can still create a disasterpiece, despite the existence of some very real (metaphorical) blisters.

Yes, it’s true: the new Slipknot album will feature electric guitars, and will be created with the aid of a mixing board, and will include work by Jim Root’s arm. It is not presently clear whether or not the out of focus gentleman is also involved in the creation of the record, or is just hanging out, but if he IS involved, well… having someone out of focus on a metal record would revolutionary, wouldn’t it? I didn’t even think such people existed outside of Woody Allen movies!

MetalSucks will, of course, keep you up-to-date with all the latest info on this most enthralling of developments in the saga of Slipknot.
