You’re familiar with French metal band Eryn Non Dae, yes? Perhaps you’re also a fan of ’90s alt-metal pioneers like Helmet, Quicksand and Far? Then boy have I got a band for you. Combine one member of the former (END bassist Mickael André) with the sounds of the latter and a dollop of Ocean-esque prog ambition and you’ve got Ethersens, another outfit from France whose new album Your Wandering Ghost is positively arresting. I’ve heard the whole thing and I can confidently tell you that “To Live is to Forget,” the eight-minute epic posted below, is just the tip of the iceberg.

Take a listen then let us know what you think in the comments section. The album is out now via Scarlet Records (order here), and non-U.S. residents can stream the whole thing through Deezer.
