Rivers of Nihil Become “Airless”

Rivers of Nihil - The Conscious Seed of Light

Rivers of Nihil are about to embark upon an epic journey throughout the U.S. and Canada on the Best in Brutality Tour and some solo headline dates leading up to it. After some wild rides with Dying Fetus and Beneath the Massacre this past fall, this next tour will be a slightly different flavor for them, but we’re beyond stoked to see them rip faces live once again (bonus: they’re playing a one-off tune-up show in Brooklyn this Friday, Feb 21 at Saint Vitus! We’ll be there.).

For now we’ve got this new playthrough video of guitarist Brody Uttley and bassist Adam Biggs performing “Airless” to tide us over. This was the final track on The Conscious Seed of Light, and, as albums’ last tracks tend to be, it’s one of the weirder and more experimental songs on the record. The audio that accompanies this video was re-recorded entirely using Toontrack software — a combo of EZ Drummer 2 and The Metal Amps and Andy Sneap Mix Packs for EZ Mix 2. More about the process and individual setting used can be found in the YouTube video description. The gorgeous-looking video was shot and edited by Paul Chrismer. Check it out:
