Video: Mutoid Man Rip LA a New One

With all the hundreds (thousands?) of shows under their band members’ collective belts, it’s awesome to know that the dudes in Mutoid Man — whose membership includes Cave In’s Stephen Brodsky, Converge’s Ben Koller and Nick Cageao — don’t feel like they’re too good for that old bastion of DIY touring bands: the record store gig.

Mutoid Man reminded everyone of their punk roots this past Sunday when they played at Vacation Vinyl, a most excellent record store in LA, as part of a mini-tour that brings them from San Francisco down to their appearance at the MetalSucks South by South Death showcase in Austin this coming Friday. This being 2014, some whippersnapper caught the set’s last two songs on video, and now we all can watch them together courtesy of Metal Insider as we get super-super-uper stoked for Friday’s show. Bonus: they cover Cave In’s “Big Riff!”

Seriously so excited to see these guys! Their 2013 debut Helium Head rocked my socks off and can be streamed in full right here.
