Decibel Magazine Tour 2014

Before there were blogs there were these things called magazines, and the only metal magazine we still get excited about reading every month is DecibelHere’s managing editor Andrew Bonazelli…

Starting tonight, there are just four more shows to go on the 2014 Decibel Magazine Tour. According to our Facebook page, it’s going well! Then again, I don’t think I can determine what a good show is anymore—the last one I saw entailed paying $14 to watch the Atlas Moth play a 20-minute set in some shitpit directly adjacent to a Childish Gambino show (note: the kids in that line really know how to dress—super cool looks, guys!). But, as usual, I digress. I’ll be attending the final dB show on Sunday in Silver Spring, MD specifically to record a podcast with… well, you can probably guess our very special guests. We like them a lot. Not to mention, there may be a record-reviewing parrot involved. And hopefully alcohol. You know how these podcasts can get when you have guests on opposite ends of the extreme spectrum.

So, if you live on the east coast, this weekend’s your last chance to (slam) dance to the likes of Carcass, the Black Dahlia Murder, Gorguts, Noisem and whatever regional openers are left. Or, stand quietly at the bar with your vodka tonic and nurse the slipped disc you aggravated assembling that end table from IKEA. Either way, as long as you’re there, everyone will be happy. Boston, NYC, Philly and Silver Spring, here are your dates with insalubrious destiny.

When they’re not putting on awesome tours, Decibel also makes a magazine! The May 2014 issue features Triptykon, Mastodon, and Exodus, and can be purchased here… but those who don’t just buy a full  subscription risk getting an earful from Jeff Walker.
