Season Of The “Witchy”: He Is Legend Picking Up Steam
It’s gratifying that He Is Legend’s profile is currently at a peak. And if we were to guess why, we might conclude that it’s because the near-invisibility of their 2009 gem It Hates You (below full stream!) has stirred fans to help spread the word. So you could say that, here in 2014, HIL and the label that released Hates are joined by passionate thousands for a successful relaunch of this awesome band. As such, a bunch of said supporters made lyric videos for “Something Witchy,” the first single from HIL’s upcoming fourth album (title and date tbd). Here’s the one chosen as the official jam:
It’s cool enough to make us wonder if the “lyric video” is headed for a change of approach: Take the focus off the lyrics (they alone are not attractive or interesting enough over four minutes), roll them at lower left, and bring artsy effects and band images to the forefront. (And discontinue the practice of displaying ads during an instrumental passage.) Or take it a step further and just roll video of me waving copies of your jam. That can’t hurt, I’m very attractive.
