Septicflesh and Fleshgod Apocalypse, modern metal’s foremost operatic symphonic blackened melodic death metal bands with the word “flesh” in their name, have announced that they’ll co-headline a North American tour this summer. The trek is being dubbed “Conquerors of the World,” and support will come from Hour of Penance and Necromonicon, I guess either because they didn’t wanna harp on the “flesh” connection too much, or because they just weren’t able to wrangle to other bands with similar names (Godflesh’s guarantee is probably too high for them to be a support act at this point, but what about any of the 203 other “flesh” bands currently listed on Metal Archives? Surely, at least ONE of them was available.)

All kidding aside, I think this sounds like a great tour. Fleshgod Apocalypse routinely kick my ass, but I haven’t seen Septicflesh since the inaugural Scion Rock Fest in early 2009, and their new album, Titan, absolutely rips, so I’m especially stoked for the opportunity to check them out again. Dates haven’t been announced yet, but we’ll let you know as soon as they are.
