Cobain Love Wedding

Mystery solved? Last week, Seattle police released a handwritten note found in the wallet of Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain at the time of his death — a note which may or may not have suggested that Cobain seriously regretted marrying Love. Now AOL — yes, AOL is still a thing — reports that Charles R. Cross, author of Heavier Than Heaven: A Biography of Kurt Cobain, claims Love has personally e-mailed him to say she wrote the note:

“Early in their relationship, they wrote notes like that to each other constantly,” Cross said. “The handwriting is absolutely Courtney’s.”

Cross went on:

“The note was promoted as Kurt mocking their wedding vows three years after they were married. It just doesn’t make any sense.”

Soooo… that settles that? Although I don’t know why Courtney Love would e-mail Cross and not just take to the internet to issue her own semi-coherent denial. I mean, it’s not as though she’s shy about sharing her opinions and/or potentially coming off as crazy. A hardened cynic might wonder if Cross is making the whole exchange with Love up so that he can sell more books. Being a cheery, sunshine-loving optimist, though, I choose to believe that Cross actually is Courtney Love. Duh-DUH-DUHHHHHHHH!!!
