Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds’ Mash-Up of Rage Against the Machine and Led Zeppelin is Killer

Sister Sparrow & The Dirty BirdsIt must be something in the air: the past thirteen months have been really good for Rage Against the Machine covers. Besides Stray from the Path’s career, there was Chvrches’ version of “Killing in the Name,” Dead Letter Circus’ version of “Killing in the Name,” and, of course, Zar’s version of “Killing in the Name.” Now it turns out that there’s this not-at-all metal band called Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds that do a live mash-up of Led Zeppelin’s “Rock and Roll” and Rage Against the Machine’s “Bulls on Parade.” Not only is it really good (vocalist Arleigh Kincheloe puts the auto-tune dependent Phil Labontes and the boobs-dependent Butcher Babies of the world to shame), but it demonstrates a knowledge of Rage Against the Machine songs that aren’t “Killing in the Name.” Enjoy:
