GREAT NEWS: Living Colour have announced the title and release season for their new album. It’s going to be called Shade, and even though most of us would love a little shade during these warm summer months, it won’t be out ’til the fall.

Still, the fall is practically right around the corner! And Living Colour are on the very, very, very, very, VERY short list of bands who have never made a bad album. I don’t see any reason to think they’ll start now… especially since Shade will reunite the group with Ron St. Germain, who also produced 1993’s Stain, which remain a favorite of both mine and Vince’s.

Says guitarist Vernon Reid of the album:

Shade is the sound of a band coming to terms with its shadows and light. From the blue pulpit of Robert Johnson to the mean red streets of Brooklyn to the golden lure of Hollywood, Shade is the next chapter of a unique American journey.”

And as if that wasn’t enough, the band has announced a headlining tour, which will kick off in September. There are truly no words to describe how incredible these dudes are live… they should have a banner gloating that they can outplay you. Make sure you don’t miss ’em.
