Cocked & Loaded: New Entombed A.D. Track Sounds Pretty Much Like Entombed

0

Entombed - Back to the FrontIf you find the current state of Entombed’s membership as confusing as I do, please allow me to simplify it for you: Entombed A.D., featuring founding vocalist LG Petrov, are like the Phil Lewis version of L.A. Guns while the other version (just called “Entombed,” I think) is like the Tracii Guns version of L.A. Guns. One’s got the iconic vocalist, the other has the pioneering guitarist, and Alex Hellid’s Entombed also features two other original members, just like Tracii Guns’ L.A. Guns, so the analogy completely holds up.

On second thought I probably just added even more confusion for anyone under the age of 35 who was never a regular reader of Metal Sludge. Nevermind. But it works for me, so fuck you.

In any case, the primary question for anyone concerned with any iteration of Entombed should be “Does it sound like Entombed?” And the answer to that question in regards to Entombed A.D.’s new track “Vulture and the Traitor” is “Pretty much.” It’s hard for me to imagine that any Entombed fans would seriously dislike this song, although I’m sure someone will prove me wrong in the comments section right quick. This same track briefly appeared last November but was quickly removed.

The album from which this track comes, Back To The Front, comes out on August 5th. Pre-order it here.
