The Heaviest Thing You Will Hear All Day: Lago
We love it when a band we’ve featured in our Unsigned and Unholy series catches on with the masses! And, from the looks of it, that’s exactly what’s happened with Phoenix, AZ deathsquad Lago, a band we first featured here in February of 2013 and whose brand new song “Concede to Oblivion” just premiered at No Clean Singing.
“Concede” is an absolute ripper of a song; the band holds Morbid Angel in high regard, that’s clear, but the track pulls influence from other parts of the death metal realm way more sinister and modern. Gojira? Ulcerate? I really don’t know, but I’m probably overthinking it. Just listen and prepare to have your ears warped inside out.
Tucson’s Battleground Records will release Tyranny on CD and digitally on September 16th, while Swedish label Blood Harvest Records will be handling the vinyl edition. Can’t wait to hear this one in full.
