Ne Obliviscaris launched a crowd-funding campaign in July for a world tour that collected over $40,000 (Australian Dollars) in just two days (roughly $37,295 USD at today’s exchange rate). Holy crap! The campaign didn’t stop there, of course; it’s just shy of $75,000 and still going, with nine days left. The band pledges to use everything beyond their initial $40,000 goal to extend their world tour even more, which is saying a lot seeing as they’d already planned to visit Europe, UK, North America, Australia, India, Japan, China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan and South East Asia. A true world tour.

All this is sweetened by the fact that the band will have a brand new album to promote when they’re out on the road! They announced yesterday on Facebook that their new album Citadel will be released November 7th or 11th (depending on where you live) via Season of Mist. Huzzah! We’ve been waiting quite a while for this one — their 2012 release Portal of I was tits — and I know we’re not not the only ones… this band has developed an incredibly loyal legion of followers worldwide, as evidenced by the massive crowd-funding support they’ve been able to garner.

Hopefully we’ll get to hear a full track from Citadel sooner rather than later. Stay tuned.
