Awesome Pro-Shot HD Video of Killswitch Engage’s Full Set at This is Hardcore Fest 2014

This is Hardcore Fest 2014The lineup for this year’s This is Hardcore Fest in Philadelphia, PA was decidedly more than just hardcore: in addition to Blacklisted, Nails, Downset, Bl’ast, Madball and a heavy helping of other hardcore bands, Unearth, Crowbar and Killswitch Engage rounded out the top portion of the billing. This certainly makes sense given how much hardcore and metal have intermingled over the past decade plus, but that point is really driven home when you’ve got a band that’s co-headlined a tour with Five Finger Death Punch closing out the night, even if their roots are in hardcore.

Not that I’ve got a problem with that: I’m not much of a hardcore guy anyway and Killswitch Engage’s live show is always entertaining, even with rhythm guitar Joel Stroetzel missing while tending to a family matter during the band’s performance at This is Hardcore Fest on July 24th. The band clearly made an effort to assemble a setlist that leaned more heavily on their older, more hardcore-based material, and they positively killed it. This footage is awesome and totally captures the KsE concert experience. Copious amounts of stage-diving!
