NOLA-POSTER-V66Noisey, the music arm ofVICE, has released the second and third episodes of NOLA: Life, Death and Heavy Blues from the Bayou, their seven-part series examining the people and the culture that helped foster New Orleans’ incredible metal scene. As Vince predicted would be the case upon the inaugural episode‘s release, the series is turning out to be incredibly impressive. I haven’t gotten to watch the third ep myself just yet (the press release announcing its publication literally just arrived in my inbox a few moments ago), but given the quality of the first two episodes, I see no reason to believe it won’t be fantastic. Also, if this episode description doesn’t immediately intrigue you, you must not actually like any of these bands:

“On a fishing trip with the Noisey team, Jimmy Bower discusses his come up with Shell Shock, the origin of Eyehategod and his place in the sound of New Orleans, including where he thinks the roots of the music lie.”

My God, how much money would you spend to go on a fishing trip with Jimmy Bower??? Most of us will have to live vicariously via this video.

Check out episodes two and three below. You can also stream the soundtrack for the series here.
