Lick My Label

Fallujah Will Now be Nuclear Blasting Their Way into the Future

Fallujah liveOn last week’s edition of the MetalSucks Podcast Chuck and Godless were riffing on a recent teaser image posted on Nuclear Blast’s Facebook page touting the label’s big releases planned for 2015. Notably missing, they claimed, were any young bands.

Welp, here’s a young band to add to the Nuclear Blast roster, and it’s a doozy: Fallujah. After two full-lengths and one EP released on Unique Leader — the most recent of which, The Flesh Prevails, landed the band a shitload of praise and a spot on Summer Slaughter — the band got promoted to the big leagues, with what we can only assume was a pretty sweet contract offer from Nuclear Blast (and I can’t imagine they were the only label in on the bidding). And they deserve it! Fallujah are on the up-and-up, and a label like Nuclear Blast is perfectly positioned to take them to the next level.

Fallujah are fast workers, so perhaps we’ll get a new album sooner rather than later. There was only a year-and-a-half gap between 2011’s The Harvest Wombs and 2013’s Nomadic, then a little over a year until The Flesh Prevails. Wishful thinking for a new album in 2015? Probably. But we can hope.

Here’s the podcast on which the discussion about Nuclear Blast takes place. It also features an interview with Sylosis guitarist/vocalist Josh Middleton.
