Sick jacket, where can I get one?

The metal world collectively shed one big, fat, ironic tear when Asking Alexandria announced last week that their iconic frontman, Danny Worsnop, had left the band. Never being one to let an opportunity for a joke slip by, vocalist Rody Walker of Protest the Hero — who are known for their highly entertaining videos — put together his own “audition” clip for the vacant vocalist spot, complete with an original composition written specifically for the occasion.

To say that the song pokes fun at Asking Alexandria would be an understatement — honestly I’m kind of surprised to see it, given that most bands maintain a professional attitude towards one another in the name of potential future touring opportunities. But that’s just one of many reasons we love Protest the Hero so much: completely unafraid to take the piss. Watch:

Unfortunately for Rody, he may be a bit late — it appears as if AA already have a new vocalist on lockdown.

For more of Rody’s on-camera shenanigans, also check out his recent video “How to DIY.”
