Vinnie Paul is Writing a Cookbook

I didn’t know this before, but it doesn’t really surprise me, because a) he’s from Texas, where they take great pride in their food (and their everything else, actually), and b) he’s a little bit on the chubbier side, which suggests that he loves his grub (no judgments, bruh, I’m in the same boat).

This being the case, Paul has decided he’s gonna go ahead and write a cookbook. And because he’s currently a member of Hellyeah he’s giving it the worst title imaginable.

The famed skinsman recently told In The Vault with Shanda Golden that Drumming Up an Appetite with Vinnie Paul — THAT IS SERIOUSLY WHAT IT’S CALLED — will include at least 125 recipes, and will be out by Christmas. After patting himself on the back about the horrible title (“How clever is that?” he asks, to which Ms. Golden does not have the courage to respond, “Not very!”), Paul said of the book (transcription courtesy of Metal Insider):

“It’s got a picture of me sitting behind a drum set. I’m holding two turkey legs, which are otherwise known as drum sticks. And it’s all about cooking and having fun with it. I don’t get too specific about it. But I do think a lot of people think cooking is throwing something in the microwave. And it’s something that you’ve really got to be passionate about, just like playing an instrument. And if you put your heart and soul into it, and then you feed it to people, and you’re [like], ‘Oh, man! This is so good.’ It makes you feel good. It’s just like playing music; [people say] ‘Goddamn, I love this shit!’”

I think people who are inclined to buy a Vinnie Paul cookbook would probably buy it even if he didn’t seize every possible opportunity to remind everyone that he’s a famous drummer, but I also think people who are inclined to buy a Vinnie Paul cookbook will probably buy it regardless of the fact that he’s going to seize every possible opportunity to remind everyone that he’s a famous drummer. I mean, if you can forgive Vinnie Paul “Alcohaulin’ Ass,” you should be able to forgive him anything.
