You may be among those who are cursing this May’s fabulous Psycho California festival weekend. Why cursing? Well it will be so awesome, but you’re not going. Why not going? It’s too far away. Your schedule won’t cooperate. Money is tight. Heck, maybe its roster is a favorite or two short of qualifying as a reason to stray so far from your sofa/pool/insulin. But that last reason is the least likely, for not only is the gathering’s vibe sure to be awesome (so the line-up is negligible) and anyway the line-up is awesome cuz Cave-In, Earth, Wo-Fat, The Atlas Moth, and most hornily, authors of two 2014 filth metal classics, Coffinworm and Indian (below). Plus there’ll be a guy doing trippy visuals and — oh hang on, scratch one of those last two. Shit.

Fest organizers have posted the following message:

Indian wrote us today with the following: “Indian has come to the point where we can no longer be a band. We have cancelled the few shows we had coming up, including our appearance at Psycho California. We are sincerely sorry to the organizers, who have been nothing but accommodating, and to the people who were wanting to see us play the fest.”

Ah nuts! Just a couple weeks ago, Indian shared a track from their upcoming live album and it’s awesome (below); yet this isn’t a total shocker cuz Indian, like their bro-band Lord Mantis, seem to paint a dick-stained picture of life in a scum-sludge quartet from Chicago. Call it my woman’s intuition, but to me they seem like unhappy people.

Indian’s Live At Roadburn 2014 is out in April via Roadburn Records. Pre-order here.
