Rivers of Nihil Complete Recording Sophomore Album

0

Rivers of Nihil studioOne of death metal’s brightest rising stars, Rivers of Nihil, has new music on the way: the Reading, PA natives just wrapped recording their sophomore album with Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland at Atrium Audio in Lancaster, PA.

I am so beyond stoked for this album! I’m biased, of course: I’ve managed the band since 2011 when I happened upon them playing the dingy basement of Lit Lounge in NYC on a Monday night for like 10 people, and they absolutely blew me away. But I manage them because I’m a fan, not vice versa (and believe me, no one is getting rich in death metal). Hot damn if The Conscious Seed of Light didn’t turn a whole lot of heads, and this next album is gonna do the same. It’s been incredibly rewarding to watch these guys be exposed to the world and be embraced by the metal community at large.

Guitarist Brody Uttley wrote two studio blogs for Heavy Blog is Heavy, complete with photos from the recording sessions. This is the band’s first album with drummer Alan Balamut and guitarist Jonathan Topore, and it’s got plenty of surprises in store for you all.

Here a few brief video clips from the studio of the guys laying down tracks so you can get a taste of what’s to come:
