Halestorm - Into the Wild Life

Hi MetalSucks reader! Welcome to another very special Shit That Comes Out Today, your satanic bible of this week’s heavy new releases. We list ‘em, we spotlight ‘em, we link you to their preview jams and full streams — and for the third week, we stick ‘em in a fancy Spotify playlist for your jamming! Now crank this shit up!

·

Bosse De Nage All foursBosse-De-Nage
All Fours (Profound Lore)
On a playlist with: Botanist, Woe, Altar Of Plagues
Listen All Fours full stream (here)

For Bosse-De-Nage, it’s been three years since a studio album and their split with Deafheaven. Long awaited! As far as black metal goes, All Fours is less hipster, yet more experimental. Think of it as pissing with black metal (side-by-side at the urinals) instead of pissing all over black metal. If that’s the way you see things, at least.

·

MurdockMurdock
Dead Lung (Basick)
On a playlist with: Between The Buried And Me, The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Locust
Listen Dead Lung full stream (here)

From the same label who brought us Uneven Structure comes a band completely different in every way! Think of Murdock and Dead Lung as the perfect child of BTBAM and DEP: mathematical, but less noodly and Converge-esque. Actually, the punk sensibilities are what sell Dead Lung, in no time you’ll be feeling pumped-up, but not drugged out.

·

Wovoka SarosWovoka
Saros (Battleground)
On a playlist with: Eyehategod, Neurosis, Weedeater
Listen Saros full stream (here)

It takes 2.5 words to get Saros in your head: crushing doom-sludge. Wovoka are under-the-radar, slipping into the subgenre without waking waves. And that’s pro, cause Saros is seriously heavy and definitively dark — and it leaves you wishing that you had the chance to see it up-front and live!

·

AnchorAnchor
Distance & Devotion (Gaphals)
On a playlist with: Corroded, Headplate, Black Spiders
Listen Distance & Devotion full stream (here)

Hey, alt-metal needs love too! Albums like Distance & Devotion are perfect when you’re burnt out on blastbeats and breakdowns and boo-boo-boo-boo-ka-ka-ka-ka. The fact that Anchor are Swedish is important as there are helpful but slight hints of melodeath. For driving, commuting, etc. it is this week’s top jam album!

·

VeldVeld
Daemonic: The Art Of Dantalian (Lacerated Enemy)
On a playlist with: Hour Of Penance, Behemoth, Hideous Divinity
Listen Daemonic: The Art Of Dantalian full stream (here)

Not only must you check out Daemonic: The Art Of Dantalian, you should peruse the rest of Lacerated Enemy’s discography, like this band. Together, these types of noises represent the super-modern in death metal — not overly technical (like Soreption), but massively hard and heavy in a post-Nile sort of way. Good for curing digestion issues!

·

Sulphur Aeon Gateway To The AntisphereSulphur Aeon
Gateway To The Antisphere (Van/Imperium)
On a playlist with: Nile, Necrowretch
Listen Gateway To The Antisphere full stream (here)

Some bands use a scalpel to get into your head, others use sledgehammers and chainsaws. Sulphur Aeon definitely raided the garden shed with Gateway To The Antisphere, which is about as hyperbolic and hyperspace as blackened death metal comes. It’s an earful, and plenty overwhelming, so bust out the psych meds and soothing oils.
