The Ultimate Overdrive Shootout: 25 Guitar Pedals in One Video

Then we’ve got something for you: a brand new Gear Gods video in which EIC Trey Xavier takes 25 of the top overdrive pedals currently on the market for a spin, from the classics to some newcomers to everything in between.

What’s awesome about this shootout video is that it’s both scientific and interactive. Each of the 25 pedals gets its fair spin by being hooked into the same signal chain, first in front of a high gain amp and then in front of a clean amp. Xavier runs the same exact guitar signal through each one, cycling through a number of different metal styles including djent, doom, black metal, death metal and shred to hear how the pedal sounds with each.
