Lamb of God Launch New Website Counting Down to… Something

lambofgodvii dot comFollowing multiple Instagram teases (#1, #2) which all-but-explicitly announced that Lamb of God have begun work on their new album, the band has now launched an enigmatic new website, lambofgodvii.com. The landing page of the website contains five distinct sections, each denoted with a Roman Numeral.

As of the time I’m writing this — Tuesday, May 5, at 1:38 pm EST — the first section has been labeled “India,” which it shows via what appears to be a satellite photo. Scroll over it, and you’ll see a moving image; click that image, and you’ll be taken to a clip of an Indian LoG fan from the band’s documentary, As the Palaces Burn.

Sections II through V are different, however. Section II has half of a satellite image of a different location (I don’t presently recognize it — anyone smarter than me feel free to call it out in the comments section) and a countdown clock; the final three sections, meanwhile, only have the countdown clocks.

Oh, and none of the clocks are counting down to the same thing:

II –

III –

IV – 05:23:13:24

V – 09:23:13:24

So we can assume the countdowns are different due to different time zones… right? Maybe? I think so.

I feel like if I could just sit here with this for awhile I might be able to crack the mystery. But since I have a website to run, I’m gonna leave that you. What the what is happening here???

And even if we don’t figure it out, there’s still a silver lining: in nine hours or so, all five countdowns will be over.

Fuck, that sounds OMINOUS.
