Ghost Feed Hype Machine With New Album Title, Single Announcement

When it comes to reporting about metal, covering the big hype monsters is a lot like playing Telephone — you get bits and pieces of information trickled down to you, and they’re usually somewhat distorted or murky by the time they reach you. And what modern metal band is more hype-driven than Ghost?

Which is why we’ve learned from Metal Injection via Hard Drive Radio (probably via their friend whose sister once knew a guy who works at the mall) that Ghost’s new album will be titled Meliora, and that the band will release a single titled “Cirice” this month. Or maybe next month. Who knows? How mysterious this band is!

There’s still no definitive word on who the new Papa Emeritus will be, though the band has announced a June 3rd show in their hometown Linköping with the following poster which suggests fans will find out then:

Meliora is due out August 21st.
