Devin Townsend Will Include an Acoustic EP with His Autobiography
We first learned that Devin Townsend was working on a vaguely autobiographical book almost exactly a year ago, and we’ve been waiting patiently for news on its release since Hevy Devy announced that book had moved into the editing stage this past February. The text — which Devin teased will be about “music, my creative process, the connection between my personal development and how my career and music has been lived… frankly and in detail” — promises to be a riveting read; as anyone who’s followed Devin’s career can attest, the dude has a LOT to say about a LOT of things.
While we still haven’t got news on when the book will hit shelves and e-readers we do have this, via The PRP: the book will come with an acoustic EP. Here it is direct from the horse’s mouth on Twitter:
So the autobiography I've been working on comes with an acoustic e.p I'm going to record… 6 or 7 songs, any requests?

The insinuation is that he’ll be re-recording some older tracks in acoustic form, as opposed to writing new ones — which is always a fun concepts. The fact that the EP has yet to be recorded, though, suggests the release of the book is still some time off, but Devy works super fast, so who knows… perhaps an end of 2015 release is still possible.
