Every time we post these box office numbers there’s inevitably a chorus of angry commenters who say “BUT THAT’S NOT WHAT THE BAND ACTUALLY TAKES HOME!”

Yes, we know. And we point that out clearly in each one of these posts. The venue takes a cut, the band’s manager and agent take cuts, they have to pay crew, they have expenses like van, gas and food, etc. On the other side they also earn money from merch.

Still, these numbers are fun to look at, and they give a GENERAL IDEA of one band’s earning power (and definitely their drawing power) relative to one another.
