“And My Father Left Forever”: My Dying Bride Are Angstier Than Thou

mydyingbridejuddnelsonAs far as goth metal bands go, My Dying Bride might be the angstiest. Their music is still cool, but it’s as upset about everything as a fifteen year old girl. They are full Open Collared Shirt On A Veranda In The Rain sad.

Their new single is titled “And My Father Left Forever,” which is definitely a statement that has been made by angry goth teenagers about seven million times. It comes from their new album Feel the Misery, which is definitely a title that has at some point been given to a soulscape drawn in an AP Chem notebook. And if that all weren’t enough, the track is just as melancholy and bitter as they come.
