Watch “Christian Heavy Metal Band” Lamb of God Perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live

Anytime a metal band performs on national television — as Lamb of God did on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night — it’s a pretty big deal. It’s one thing when a well-known older band with tons of radio.MTV success like, say, Alice in Chains does it, although even those kinds of appearances are getting rarer and rarer. But a band as brutal as Lamb of God? Shew. They may not seem super-brutal compared to some of the gnarlier stuff we like, but to your average American they’re unlistenable.

Such appearances never come without hiccups, especially when lazy TV listings programmers can’t be bothered to do any research. Check out the screen cap of LoG drummer Chris Adler’s cable listing in which the band is listed as a “Christian heavy metal,” likely due to their religious-themed moniker:

Thankfully the performance itself went off without any hitches, although the mix is unfortunately sub-par. Watch the band rip through “512” and “Still Echoes” from their new album below.
