GWAR Covers Cyndi Lauper’s Ode to Touching Yourself

GWAR has been good to the A.V. Club’s ‘Undercover‘ series, where they get bands to cover other bands that they maybe wouldn’t cover normally. They’ve covered Billy Ocean, Kansas, and now Cyndi Lauper’s ode to the sin of Onan, “She-Bop.”

And it’s pretty much what you’d expect–a grimy thrash version of a ridiculous song about getting yourself off. Of course, it’s also prefaced with some classic GWAR-style banter and closed out with a Ramones cover, because hey, this is a Scumdog cover here. If you expected a traditional rendition of this track respectful of the original, you’re watching the wrong band.

Watch “She-Bop” below. I’ll warn you, though: sadly, no one actually masturbates during the video.
