Stream the New Haunted Shores EP Viscera — Featuring Periphery’s Mark Holcomb and Misha Mansoor — in Full!

Haunted Shores - VisceraHaunted Shores — the proggy and black metal-ish collaboration between Periphery guitarists Mark Holcomb and Misha Mansoor — have released the Viscera EP, and you can — and should — stream it in full below! It’s completely different than anything you’d expect from Periphery, and the project actually pre-dates Holcomb’s involvement with the latter.

Here’s how I described Haunted Shores when MetalSucks premiered the track “Norway Jose” a couple weeks back:

Haunted Shores offer a mish-mash of styles — death metal, black metal and yes, progressive metal among them — but the result sounds nothing like the sum of its parts. The riffs are meaty as fuck and the production is massive, unsurprising seeing as Mansoor engineered and mixed it. You might find that some of the lead guitar work is vaguely reminiscent of Periphery, but that’s really about as far as the similarities go.

It’s a really cool record, one that you should give a shot no matter your opinion of Periphery. Check it out below in full and order it via Bandcamp.
