Stream Morbid Tales! A Tribute to Celtic Frost Featuring Phil Anselmo, Municipal Waste, and More!

Last year, Decibel artist and metal cartoonist extraordinaire Mark Rudolph released Morbid Tales!, an illustrated tribute to Swiss metal overlords Celtic Frost (Rudolph had already done a tribute book for Mercyful Fate). Rudolph then announced that he was releasing an LP of Frost tributes, including this Phil Anselmo/Child Bite cover of “The Usurper.”

Well, now you can hear it, as Revolver streamed the entire LP yesterday, which, thankfully, fucking rules. You’ve got Transylvanian goat herders Persekutor rasping through “Procreation of the Wicked”; you’ve got Detroit death-doom heavyweights Temple of Void crushing a track from Frost’s last record, Monotheist; and for those contrarians out there, you’ve got two covers for the much-despised Cold Lake album — Acid Witch doing “Cherry Orchards” and Coffin’s Slave doing “Dance Sleazy.” Fans of any era of Celtic Frost will fucking love this record.

Stream Morbid Tales! below. Order the LP on its own or as a bundle with the book at Corpse Flower Records.
