Primal Fear Have “Bullets & Tears”
“Bullets & Fear,” the new single from Germany’s Primal Fear, is the best Judas Priest song not written by Judas Priest that you will hear this week. This band has always sounded very Judas Priest-y (which makes sense, since their vocalist, Ralf Scheepers, once auditioned for Judas Priest, ultimately losing the gig to “Ripper” Owens), but they’re really leaning into it here. Not that I’m complaining! I’m usually not much of a Primal Fear fan, but this song got stuck deep, deep in my head after just one listen, and not in an annoying way. More in a grabbing random people on the street, making an invisible orange, and screaming the chorus kinda way. “THUN-DER ROARS, LIGHT-NING STRIKES!!!” Good stuff.
Check out “Bulets & Fear” below, but only once you’re prepared to be singing it/bothering strangers with it for the rest of the day. The song will appear on Primal Fear’s new album, Rulebreaker, which comes out January 29 on Frontiers.
