I woke up with a horrible stomach ache today and as it turns out, it wasn’t the only thing that would make me deal with painful shit this morning. Chiodos frontman Craig Owens recorded a grindcore EP in his bedroom last summer, and now the music of Bea5t — there’s a five instead of an S so you KNOW it’s extra br00tal — gets to grace our ears with all the elegance of a Donald Tump race relations speech.

In typical grindcore fashion, the EP, titled Empathy Is A Gift, has four songs and clocks in at a whopping seven minutes long, which is fantastic really because anything longer than seven minutes would probably make your eardrums melt. The vocals sound more like a possessed kindergartener being exorcised than any sort of musical screaming, and the guitars are seemingly limited to three post hardcore sound effects programmed into a soundboard that someone is having a seizure on.

Like I said, I woke up with a stomach ache this morning. But let it be known that my anus burns not from the consumption of excess amounts of dairy products and red meat, but from listening to Bea5t.

Empathy Is A Gift is out now. If you truly must, you can listen below and buy it here.
