Emmure’s Frankie Palmeri Admits That He’s Been “an Egotistical, Psychotic, Moronic Douche”

Up until 2011, I really just knew Emmure as “that band that isn’t The Acacia Strain.” That all changed when vocalist Frankie Palmeri did a track-by-track breakdown for one of the band’s albums which was, frankly, insane. After that, it suddenly seemed like Palmeri’s schmuckery was everywhere: He doesn’t understand satire! He wrote a song about mean bloggers! His entire band quit on him! Palmeri was 100% on top of his game, when you consider that his game was behaving like a yutz at every opportunity. It seemed as though the yuks Palmeri provided would never end.

Sadly, of course, EVERYTHING ends sooner or later: life, love, the McRib, and, yes, it would seem the age of Frankie Palmeri being a yutz. Metal Injection reports that in a new interview with Rock Sound, Palmeri says…

“Over the years, specifically the last decade, I have done a pretty good job at painting myself as an egotistical, psychotic, moronic douche. I did and said a lot of stupid shit.

“A good portion of it which I look back in with embarrassment and regret. I have grown so much as person and I like to think there is still chance for people to understand that everyone grows differently and at their own pace. I am still growing but, I am not the person people have made me out to be.

“I look forward to reconnecting with all the fans who have stuck with Emmure through the years and just over all excited about the future.”

WOW! What’s next, Dave Mustaine endorsing Bernie Sanders?

Of course, only time will tell if Palmeri makes good on his word or not. It’s also possible that he still believes he’s a character from Street Fighter receiving divine instruction from Lizard Jesus. Let’s revisit this in a year and see what kind of progress he’s made, okay?
