Synthwave Sunday: Carpenter Brut, “Turbo Killer” Music Video

If I’m being honest I don’t quite follow the plot of the music video for the new Carpenter Brut jam “Turbo Killer.” But FUCK if the Seth Ickerman-directed clip isn’t the most badass music video I’ve seen this year: if it’s got hot babes, hot rods, upside down crosses, high speed car chases, evil gasmask-wearing henchmen, a hero of questionable morals and the aesthetic, style and coloring are straight out of an ’80s slasher flick. In short: it’s perfect.

The tune is also metal as fuck, and I’d wager serious money — knowing Brut’s metal background — that its title is an amalgam of two of Judas Priest’s most iconic albums. There’s also this, a post on Carpenter Brut’s Facebook page explaining why the outfit can’t book shows outside of their native France:

That’s most unfortunate. MetalSucks has made an offer to assist Carpenter Brut in lining up an appearance at SXSW 2017… so we’ll have to wait to see if they accept :)
