Brooklyn’s Family Signs to Prosthetic

0

Last we heard from Brooklyn act Family was in 2014 when they announced their fall tour. We were excited about the prospect of a new album, as 2012’s Portrait is such a bizarre but entertaining crusher, and the track they leant to our last NYC Sucks compilation fucking slays (it also doesn’t hurt that one of their guitarists is our own Kip Wingerschmidt).

Well, good news, everyone. Family have been signed by Prosthetic Records, who intend to release their new album, Future History, this summer! Check out an album trailer below.

A hearty MetalSucks congrats to those dudes for making awesome, wonky metal in New York City and getting a record deal out of it. Prosthetic has some great modern bands on the roster right now, too — Arizona’s Spirit Adrift and Colorado’s Wayfarer come to mind — so they’ll be in good company.

Go listen to Portrait and “Precedent” on their Bandcamp page, and follow them on Facebook. If you want to see what all the fuss is about live, the band will be opening for Intronaut, Scale The Summit, and North on the March 29th show at Webster Hall, and you can buy tickets here.
