Exclusive Track Premiere: Wrong, “Boil”

0

If Wrong were to change their very un-SEO-friendly band name, they might want to consider the moniker of Chunky Riffs. Because good God, are their riffs fucking chunky! Chunky as a baby’s thighs, chunky as a big slab of ground beef, chunky as a big, sopping spoonful of mashed potatoes. It’d also guarantee they’d appear first in Google when their band name is searched, and they’d be amongst great company: “chunky riffs” currently turns up Gojira, Josh Homme, and Muse’s Matt Bellamy. Finally, it’d be complete truth in advertising.

Take a listen to “Boil,” from Chunky Riffs’ forthcoming self-titled album, and tell us you don’t immediately want to order up a very chunky thing from your closest eatery and/or baby emporium. Complimenting guitarists Eric Hernandez and Ryan Haft’s unbearable heft is the equally meaty rhythm section of Brian Hernandez (drums) and Andres Ascanio (bass), the foundation that makes it all possible. In our analogy, maybe B. Hernandez and Haft are the platter on which the meal is served, maybe they’re the pot in which the stew is cooked, maybe they’re even the chef… but whatever they are, the result is a track that hits hard and doesn’t relent.

Chunky Riffs will release Chunky Riffs on April 29th via Relapse; pre-order here. Check out another song from the album called “Turn In” here. Upcoming tour dates with Nothing and Culture Abuse below.
