To help promote their current tour (dates) with Soilwork, Fear Factory have released a video for their song “Expiration Date,” from 2015’s Genexus. Which makes sense — the tour features FF playing 1995’s Demanufacture in its entirety, and “Expiration Date” is a clear spiritual successor to the material on that release. In fact, it sounds like it could be a b-side from that album, and aptly demonstrates everything that makes Demanufacture so great: sensitive, melodic music, deeply profound, philosophical poetry from the Titus Andromedon school of lyric writing, and, of course, the always-achingly gorgeous au natural vocals of Burton Seabell. It’s also worth noting that the song quotes the obscure cult sci-fi classic, Blade Runner; if the filmmakers are smart, they’ll include it under the closing credits of the upcoming Blade Runner 2.
