To Celebrate Cinco de Mayo, Here’s a Playlist of Fifth Tracks From Fifth Albums

0

Today is Cinco de Mayo, the celebration of Mexico’s victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla. It’s a day we celebrate in America by getting lit the fuck up on tequila and gruffling Del Taco, celebrating Mexico’s heritage the same way we “celebrate” the Irish on St. Patrick’s Day.

We tossed around a couple of ideas in the Mansion about how to celebrate this day. The obvious one would be to post a bunch of Brujeria and Asesino tracks. We toyed with the concept of an anti-Drumpf playlist, too. But it was Axl’s inspired idea that won out–since today is 5/5, we’d create a playlist of fifth songs from bands’ fifth albums.

Below is the result, which, you’ll see, is a mixed bag. Some bands really killed it on their fifth full-length release (Slayer, Immortal), while other didn’t do so well (Metallica, Deicide). Any significant omissions on our part? Post them in the comments section!

From all of us at MetalSucks, happy Cinco de Mayo. Now ¡beba, putas!
