Dream Theater’s New Video for “Our New World” Captures The Astonishing Live Experience

Has anyone here gotten to check out Dream Theater on their current tour, in which they’re playing their new concept double album The Astonishing in full? I had a conflict the night it stopped in NYC so I couldn’t go, but I heard it was quite the experience.

Thankfully the band’s new music video for “Our New World,” filmed at the Milan, Italy stop of DT’s run of The Astonishing shows in Europe this past winter, is here to fill me in on what I missed. The show production isn’t as big and bombastic as I was imagining, but it’s still pretty cool, and I bet the video animations — not shown — were badass. I also dig the way this video cuts the performance of the song with footage of the band setting up, getting ready backstage, meeting fans, etc.
