Watch: Pro-Shot Footage of Despised Icon’s Full Set at Texas Independence Fest 2016

All band break-ups are temporary these days, and the case for Canadian deathcore pioneers Despised Icon was no different: after announcing in 2010 that they were done, they started playing “reunion” shows in 2014, and earlier this year they announced a whole slew of shows for 2016 and a new album before the year is done. Not that we’re complaining!

The first of those shows took place at the MetalSucks-sponsored Texas Independence Fest in Austin last month, and pro-shot footage of the set has now surfaced online via the festival’s website. The show looks like it was absolutely bonkers, and also serves as a stark reminder of what deathcore can be like when it’s done right — the band is tight as a virgin’s butthole, and they haven’t lost any of their live power from back in the day. Here’s to hoping that new album gets here sooner rather than later, and the band follows it with a full, proper U.S. tour.

Watch below. Footage of Bury Your Dead, Through the Eyes of the Dead and Unearth has also been posted at the Texas Independence Fest’s site.
