Ozzy is a Sex Addict, Apparently
A couple of weeks ago, we reported that Ozzy Osbourne and his wife and manager Sharon appeared to be finally splitting up, and we posited that this might be due to his longtime battle with drug and alcohol addiction, which Ozzy has since denied.
However, according to Blabbermouth, Sharon is forcing Ozzy to check into rehab. The reason? Sex addiction.
Ozzy will be checking into Pine Grove, the same rehab facility Tiger Woods attended for his own sex addiction issues. Pine Grove’s “Gratitude” Program apparently treats those suffering from sex addiction, sexual anorexia, love and relationship addiction, and sexual trauma.
Obviously, if Ozzy is in pain and needs help, we want him to get help, and if he finds himself in engaging and joyless sex that he doesn’t mean to, he should find a way to stop that habit…
…buuut I’ve never entirely bought the sex addiction claim. It feels more like a way to make a public display of introspection and purity of spirit rather than to recover from an actual crippling addiction. It seems perfectly normal for people of all genders and orientations to be insatiable horndogs who have to exert incredible willpower to remain faithful, and when you’re a rock star and beautiful people are throwing themselves at you, it must be especially hard. Does that mean you’re an addict? I’m not so sure.
That said, more than anything I hope Ozzy finds what he’s looking for in sex rehab, and if any of our readers are afflicted with nymphomania or satyriasis, please feel free to skewer me in the comments. Meanwhile, if I want to live vicariously through a rock star, I’ll stick with King Diamond.
