“Reconductor”: RLYR Are Here About That Problem with the Wiring

RLYR is not your typical run-of-the-mill metal, which makes sense given that the band contains members of Pelican, Locrian, and Bloodiest. There’s a lot of post-rock, shoegaze, and Fugazi worship going on here. That said, there’s also definitely traces of Gojira and Mantar to be found in the music, too, so it isn’t entirely without momentum or teeth.

The band has just released a new track called “Reconductor” off of their upcoming album Delayer, and it’s a pounder. Steadily mid-paced and low-toned, it makes one think of exactly what its title suggests: electrical wiring and energy running through it. Anyone who’s ever sympathized with a motherboard will enjoy this track.

Listen to “Reconductor” below and judge for yourself. Delayer drops June 17th via Magic Bullet, and you can pre-order the album at their Bandcamp.
