Here’s Testament’s Chuck Billy Performing a Country Cover of “Ace of Spades”

Since his death late last year, Motörhead frontman and professional wart model Lemmy Kilmister has been on everyone’s minds. Countless people and institutions have paid tribute to him, from hockey teams to the German post office.

Testament frontman Chuck Billy paid homage to the Great Man at a family birthday party alongside country/rockabilly band Outlaw Cash Prophets, performing the Motörhead classic “Ace of Spades” in the style of Johnny Cash.

Billy’s performance is a fitting tribute–cigar in hand, voice drawling and reedy, a stand-up bass played in the background. At least there, singing old-school metal with a country band, no one is cracking wise about Colonel Sanders.
