I’ll be honest – most of my listening this year has consisted of the new Perturbator and the Foghat Complete Bearsville Albums Collection box set. When I wasn’t busy being a fool for Nocturne City, though, I did listen to a few actual metal albums (some of which wasn’t even made by teenage Japanese girls!). Here’s the best of what I felt I could realistically claim as “actual metal albums.”

Babymetal – Metal Resistance (earMusic)
Blizaro – Cornucopia della Morte (I, Voidhanger)
Blood Ceremony – Lords of Misrule (Rise Above)
Cobalt – Slow Forever (Profound Lore)
Destroyer 666 – Wildfire (Season of Mist)
Fallujah – Dreamless (Nuclear Blast)
Gojira – Magma (Roadrunner)
Honky – Corduroy (Housecore)
Ihsahn – Arktis. (Spinefarm)
Mantar – Ode to the Flame (Nuclear Blast)
Megadeth – Dystopia (Tradecraft)
Mesarthim – Isolate (Avantgarde)
Oranssi Pazuzu – Värähtelijä (20 Buck Spin)
Perturbator – The Uncanny Valley (Blood Music)
Spellcaster – Night Hides the World (Prosthetic)
Striker – Stand in the Fire (Record Breaking Records)
Tusmørke – Fort Bak Lyset (Svart)
Vektor – Terminal Redux (Earache)
Virus – Memento Collider (Karisma)
Wo Fat – Midnight Cometh (Ripple)
