Guns N’ Roses Reunion Tour: Opening Acts to Include Lenny Kravitz, Skrillex, The Cult, and More

For reasons that oughta be self-explanatory, I was really hoping Alice in Chains would open the entire GN’R summer reunion tour. And they are playing a handful of dates on the trek — but not all of them. Various other acts will open assorted dates on the show, and for the most part, they’re not nearly as interesting (at least to me!) as AiC:

  • The Cult
  • Lenny Kravitz
  • Skrillex
  • Billy Talent
  • Chris Stapleton

Billy Talent are swell, I guess it would be a kick to see The Cult, and Lenny Kravitz is relatively painless (and justify his presence if they bring him out to do the Slash-penned “Always on the Run”). I didn’t know who Chris Stapleton was until three minutes but he seems like he could be interesting, maybe, if the crowd gives him a chance. Skrillex… Jesus Christ. I guess Axl Rose learned nothing from watching Mix Master Mike get booed every evening of the band’s 2002 tour.

There’s also a bunch of dates where the opener has yet to be announced, so there’s hope for some more cool acts. In fact, I heard a rumor that a certain supergroup would be on some of the bill for some of these shows. So if you’re going to one of the shows without an announced support act yet, keep your fingers crossed from someone a little cooler.
