Iron Maiden’s Ed Force One to be Retired

0

For their recent tour supporting last year’s massive The Book of Souls, Iron Maiden flew around the world on Ed Force One, a badass jetliner piloted by none other than frontman Bruce Dickinson. The plane took the band all over the globe, including to their first Chinese show, and even survived a nasty collision during its tenure as the chariot of the metal gods.

Unfortunately, all good things must end, and Ed Force One is no different. Iron Maiden will put the plane to rest after one final mission: when it takes 350 Icelandic soccer fans to Marseilles to see the Iceland/Hungary match. So this is a bittersweet goodbye–on the one hand, it’s sad to see the greatest metal band of all time’s jet take its last flight, but then again it’s only appropriate that said flight be filled with a bunch of drunk hooligans to see the footy.

Watch the video below of Bruce Dickinson saying so long to Ed Force One. And fret not, Maidenheads–I’m sure Ed Force Two is going to be baller as Hell.
