Joey Jordison Loves Slipknot’s .5: The Gray Chapter, is Totally Down for a Reunion

Joey Jordison is back in the spotlight, ’cause he’s launched not one but two new bands. But of course, all anyone really wants to talk to him about is Slipknot. Which, naturally, has led to the de rigeur “Would you re-join the band?” question (in this case, delivered by Metal Hammer). Which, naturally, has led to the de rigeur “never say never” answer. Any one of you could have given the same answer from memory by now:

“Honestly, I’m not trying to be dramatic, but if that was brought up, what I’d want to do would be to get together.

“I’d want to see them, just hug it out and feel that energy that we had when we were fucking young and hungry and all that shit.

“They’re my brothers. We’d hug and talk and do shit like we used to do. We used to sit up all night along planning this shit and what we wanted to do. So that’s how I’d wanna do it.

“It’d have to be in person. If it happened, that would be fucking awesome, but only time will tell.”

He even praises the band’s first album without him, .5: The Gray Chapter:

“I listened to the whole record multiple times. And I think it’s great. It’s fucking cool and I’m glad they moved on.

“I’m glad they’re carrying on the name, because what’s important is the fans.”

So, not a very an interesting answer. But I mean, what is Jordison supposed to say, right? Of course he’d love to re-join the massively successful band for which he’s famous.

Fortunately for him — and he very likely realizes this himself — this is not really an “only time will tell” situation so much as it’s an “only a matter of time situation.” Remember, kids, EVERYONE REUNITES EVENTUALLY. It may not last, as Bill Ward and Sammy Hagar will attest, but it will happen. Really, we can just get the pool going on when Jay Weinberg’s singing telegram will arrive right now. I say they do one more album without Jordison and then bring him back. What action you guys got?
