Metallica Get the Limp Bizkit Hoax Treatment
A couple of months ago, someone hoaxed Limp Bizkit fans by creating a fake Facebook event claiming that the band would be playing a show at a gas station in Dayton, OH, causing hundreds of fans to show up, feel like idiots, and party.
Welp, now it’s happened to Metallica. Someone set up this Facebook page, advertising a Metallica show at Joe’s Crab Shack in Tucson, AZ. The event promises the following:
Metallica & Joe’s Crab Shack are combining forces to bring you the most Metal show and Buffet to ever exist in the Old West.
Metallica will be playing all their albums in entirety. From Kill Em All to the upcoming new untitled album.
But wait it’s gets even better .
There will be an unlimited buffet of Crab legs for all concert goers !!
The description goes on to say that five carne asada burritos will contain golden tickets that allow fans to hang with the band.
Seems like an obvious gag, right? But of course, people are not smart, which is why Joe’s Crab Shack was flooded with calls asking about the event. The restaurant has apparently since closed, but the owners claim that employees were fielding tons of phone calls.
So I guess the moral of the story is, if you think Metallica are going to play a seafood restaurant in a landlocked desert city, you’re sad. If you think anyone would give you unlimited crab legs at a show, you’re a grade-A moron. The next time you see an event this impossible or ridiculous, don’t be the idiot who calls in asking about it.
